The focus of WVDHA legislative activities over the past three years remains on Educational Advocacy day held at the legislature.

In both 2022, 2023, 2024 dental hygienists and dental hygiene students from BridgeValley Community and Technical College, West Virginia University, and West Liberty University joined to participate in an Educational Advocacy Day.   Attendees were provided an overview of the legislative process and earned basic lobbying skills from a variety of healthcare and governmental relations professionals. Also, in past events participants have has the opportunity to witness the reading of a proclamation for Dental Hygienists’ Day.(2017 event)
